The thing about need-based prayer...

Hey fammmmm! Welcome to my birthday week! ( yes, I just had to add that somewhere.😅 ) Confession time:  In October of 2020, I resigned from my job. Not that of myself, I would have done so but it's just that I was put in a position where resigning was the best thing to do. Certainly wasn't expecting that but it was what it was, really.  When this happened, I was optimistic that I would find work in no time. Well, that didn't happen. So, I prayed... and I prayed and I prayed.  There were times when I was so sure of an open door coming my way. There were also those times when an unexpected call from someone would come, telling me of an potential job offer or something. Feeling hopeful, I would wait and suddenly not hear from them. Chale...  So believe me when I say that I know what it means to wait for that "phone call".  ...that feeling when an unregistered number shows up on your phone and you find yourself wondering which company the caller may be co

The Blood

The Bible teaches us that when we give our lives to Jesus, it is our spirits that are reborn. Our hearts of stone are changed for a heart of flesh and He gives us a new spirit. ( ref Ezekiel 36:26) .  But, you know, the fact that we have a new spirit and a new heart does not mean our bodies and minds are changed. This is why the Bible admonishes us to renew our minds with the Word of God and to put our bodies under ( see Romans 12:2 ; 1Corinthians 9:27 ).  That notwithstanding, we make mistakes.  We go off the wagon sometimes and in those moments, we feel like we have lost our place of sonship in the Beloved and our relationship with God is broken. That isn't the case . The blood of Jesus makes all the difference... I was lost in worship yesterday when the devil shot an arrow of guilt my way. The moment the thought came to mind, I automatically bowed my head down. Just when I was doing that, I heard: keep your head up. I kid you not! I knew in that moment that to allow

How Holy Spirit helped me walk in love

I am thankful to God for the gift of His Spirit. I am thankful to God for His leading. I thank God for the privilege of being led by Him, which comes by virtue of being born again.  I am reading Kenneth Hagin's, "Love: the way to victory" and this book teaches us the practical steps of walking in love. I see that walking in love is not possible without the leading and help of the Holy Spirit.  This weekend, I had a not-so-pleasant conversation with my Semenhyia ( I'll tell you who he is in the "not so distant future(inside joke)" 😅 ). It was one of those conversations that leave you quiet for A WHILE. Had it not been that we were in a setting where I couldn't just pick my bag and leave, I would have gone home sharp! I actually wanted to, chale... but maturity wouldn't let me 😂 So, here I am, not saying a word and then it is time for lunch. The pettiness in me wanted to say, "I'm not hungry. Go ahead and eat" but the Chil
