Trust Me and show up

There was a time I felt like Papa would use me when I'd attained some level of experience or something... Doing ministry has led me to times when I've wanted to run away and hide myself because I felt inadequate. There have been days when I've sought for a million excuses not to do a task because of fear that I'll make a fool of myself or mess up completely... I guess the honest truth has been the fear that people would realise how much I do not know and tag me as empty. I'm a crazy woman, I tell you. I have my days. I know nothing at all... I always felt that I should attain some level of *umph* in the things of Papa to be qualified as one who preaches Christ. I guess that makes me selfish because then it seems like this walk is all about me. But, it's not so. I felt that at least, I should be somebody with a track record of killing lions behind the scenes or slaying bears with my bare hands. In my bid to flee, all Holy Spirit said was... "Trus...

Dear Mary Magdalene

Darling, At some point in my bid to write this letter, I was a bit scared. Here I am, trying to tell you so many things through words which are, in essence, very limited in their bid to convey the needed and intended message. Mary Magdalene, I am very very very proud of the person you have become. I can only imagine the caliber of a person you are becoming in the coming days, months and years…I can only imagine. At first, before Holy Spirit came into the picture, I did not like you. I could not look you in the face…I never wanted to stare back at you in the mirror…ever. I never liked your face. I never liked your smile. I felt that you were ugly…just ugly. I remember those times you wanted to end your life because you felt no one loved you. Haha…now we can only laugh back at those moments. Remember you had an exercise book where you wrote down mum, dad, mamaa and poppie’s names and then you added some of our aunties and uncles’ names and then you’d write next to thos...

Dear Future Husband

Dear future husband… If you see me typing using Times New Roman font instead of MV Boli, then you should know that I really mean business…lol Baby, I will not deny the fact that you have been missed! But at the same time, I am very very very glad that you are not here… yet. Do not get me wrong baby But the truth is, your absence has helped me greatly in my relationship with Daddy. By your absence, I have learnt the most valuable thing in life… a relationship with the Only One  Who really cares about me and can keep my heart safe. There have been many many many times that I have sought a shoulder to cry on…many times. There are those little secrets that no one knows about me that I have wanted to tell someone… There have been those times when I have needed someone to laugh about something with… There have been those days when I just needed someone around… There have been those days… …had you been here, that person would definitely have been you… ...

The Ant and the mortar

I have been privileged to work with bamboo for some weeks no w. I have been producing paper from bamboo fibres. Earlier today, whiles pounding my bamboo fibres, an ant fell into the mortar. I had wanted to help it out but I knew that if I tried to reach out for it, the ant would rather hide from me and get further lost in the bamboo fibres. …and so, I left it to find its way out. Deep within me, I knew it would find its way out. Just then, Holy Spirit began to minister to my spirit (I just love Him!!!) I believe this post will bless you today… He taught me… Many times, when we cry out to Daddy for His help and it seems as though He is not forthcoming with the needed response, it is not because He does not love us or He does not see our tears. Many times, He just wants us to tap from the greatness of Himself which He has placed on the inside of us, to come out of our situation. You have been crying for sponsorship for a long time. Meanwhile, God h...

The Conformists and the non-conformists

In making pulp (pulp is the mixture of the wood fibres in water) for my paper, I had to pound the fibres for a while before adding water to it. After adding the water, I realised that I still had fibres which had refused to loosen up to make my desired pulp. I was running my hand through a large bowl of pulp and as I did, I took out those ‘stubborn’ fibres to throw them out. Holy Spirit taught me that a time is coming when those who choose not to conform to the precepts of our Father will be sifted out and discarded like the fibres I had thrown out. When that time comes, those who choose disobedience against the voice of God will find themselves being thrown into the lake of fire, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. We have no excuse. We have no excuse… …and those of us who are burning with zeal for Our King now, let us not grow c omplacent in our walk with Dad. Let us not think that we have arrived…we will never arrive until we go back Ho...

Perspectives

In the ending of last year, 2016, I was faced with a choice to make. I was faced with the choice of seeking my happiness or the happiness of God, my Father. …at that time, seeking my happiness felt like it was what was going to make Daddy happy… simply because it made me happy. I felt that the joy of Daddy was in seeing me happy and so, I wanted to run with my desire of personal happiness. Then there was the choice of seeking the happiness of Daddy. I knew the other option was and still is what Daddy wanted of me but at that time, I felt I couldn’t take it. I felt like I was ‘done!!!’ and I couldn’t hold on any longer. …I cried… So, I decided to pursue my happiness, believing that Daddy was in on it. I am very grateful to God that in my frustration, Holy Spirit led me to cry to Him. I believe strongly that because I went to Him, to vent out my pain, He opened my eyes to understand what I am about to share to you today. Baby, the greatest desire of Our Father is ...

A father's love

I was on my way to the central business district of Kumasi to get some items for a project I am currently undertaking. In the bus I was seated in that morning, there was seated by me a man with a little boy; they were father and son. I realised that every time the little boy saw anything edible, he wanted his father to get that particular thing for him. First, he saw ice-cream… he told his dad he wanted it. He saw sachet water on sale… he cried to his father that he wanted to drink water. He saw bread and the same thing happened. At a point, I thought the father would respond to the plea of his son… especially when the little boy was crying of thirst to his father. At that moment, I thought to myself,” This man is mean.” It was there that Holy Spirit ministered unto me… The father loved his son… and he wanted what was best for him. That notwithstanding, it did not change the fact that he had to still protect his child. Imagine what would have happened ...
